Bipolar Disorder and Life Insurance

It is often possible to obtain life cover if you suffer from bipolar disorder. It may also be possible to obtain critical illness cover and income protection.

The range of outcomes for a Bipolar sufferer will very much depend upon the history of the condition and the degree of control. For example, cover may still be achievable even if the sufferer has experienced significant episodes including periods as an inpatient in the past. However, if the applicant  had spent time in hospital then it may not be possible to get life cover now (though it may be in the future).

We appreciate that mental health issues can be difficult. We are sympathetic towards clients with mental health issues and we are keen to help wherever possible.

If you have suffered from mental health issues, the chances of obtaining life cover could be greater than you might think; so it's best not to assume the outcome and ask an expert instead.
